Among the destructive consequences is state called lipid pneumonia. Although it happens rarely, it is a consequence of inhaling very small amounts of petroleum jelly. It becomes accumulated in the lungs and it can’t be metabolized or destroyed by the body. It leads to a serious lung inflammation.
